YardPermit cost bands are 2026 U.S. national ranges for typical residential work. They are compiled as educational estimates from takeoff math (posts, volume, board feet) plus widely published contractor-cost bands. They are not a bid, not a localized index, and not a promise.

Every calculator shows the formula and the assumptions: post spacing, hole diameter, waste factor, board width. Change them. If a city page later carries a verified permit fee, that fee will be sourced and dated. Until then, it will not be invented.
